166 successor, AMS says

Car-magazine Auto Motor und Sport claims that Alfa Romeo has started the development process of the successor of 166 which could be the substitute of 159.

 According to the journal, the new Alfa-flagship would base on that LX-type chassis which is used in the case of Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300C. Either rear-wheel drive or other components would be similar to the American models; however the new Alfa would not be a camouflaged Chrysler.

Details say that successor of 166 would be a four-door coupé-like vehicle of which length is more than 5 metres. It could be a competitor of German premium-category cars even more Jaguar XF. Auto Motor und Sport claims that 3.0 litres V8 Biturbo MultiAir engine can be installed into the new model producing 400 HP. If the gossips are true, model can be named Alfetta.
