German car-magazine AutoBild wrote that Alfa Romeo had wanted to do its best in the case of Giulietta, and it had succeeded, the car kept its promise. According to Wolfgang König nobody expected an Alfa victory over BMW Series 1.

The new model recalls the good times when Giulia TI could be compared to BMW 1800ti, Giulia Super to 2002, and Alfetta to 520i.

MultiAir Giulietta with 170 HP and a natural aspirated BMW 1 with a capacity of 2 litres were the subjects of the test, however the Alfa model was easier with 10 kgs. Alfa was critised because of the attitude of seats, but the quality, the agility and the design got positive evaluations.

The author emphasised the surprisingly great maneuverability of Giulietta, it is better than the rear-driven BMW which has better allocation considering weight.
