Respecting the reconsidered criteria of crash tests of Euro NCAP, Alfa Romeo Giulietta had 87 points of 100. This rate is the best considering other cars of the compact car category. Of course, this resulted five stars.

The car-safety organization changed its testing methods in case of adult, child and pedestrian protection. Moreover a new assessment was introduced to test safety assist systems, e.g. ESP or seat-belt reminders.

Measuring Giulietta adult occupant protection reached 97 percents, child occupant protection reached 85 percents, pedestrian protection reached 63 percents, safety assist systems reached 86 percents. This result means that the five stars will remain in 2012 when testing methods are going to be more severe.
