After 3 years, Alfa made another appereance at the Car of the year challenge, as the Alfa MiTo is one of the seven finalists in this year. However it won't be easy, because the MiTo's rivals will be the Renault Mégane, the Ford Fiesta, the new, most boreing ever Golf, the Citroen C5, the Opel Insigna and the Skoda Superb.

The real rivals could be the Fiesta, the new Mégane and the C5 Citroen, because these models are enough modern, showy, and revolutionary to win the award. Because of these many people don't count the Insigna, the Superb and of course the Golf as a real rival. The annoucement of the result eill be on the 17th of November.

Since 1964, Alfa win two Car of the year awards; one in 1998 with the 156, and one in 2001 with the 147. Fiat Auto is the most expenditous carmaker with 11 awards.
