Day of press conferences of International Motor Show in Geneva was started with the introduction of concept cars on Tuesday. Firstly, eighty-year-old Pininfarina inaugurated its car dedicated to the centenary of Alfa Romeo.

Andrea Pininfarina, head designer of Spider, said that optimism on car-industry, independence and pleasant spending of spare-time were the main ideas during designing. Interior which surrounds the driver, belt drive shooting from one point and circling the car – typical features of an Alfa Romeo. Nevertheless the scudetto was reconsidered.

Leader of the firm, Paolo Pininfarina retailed on the press conference that they had chosen Alfa Romeo because with this model they were able to determine the future and declare that their firm is still a leading designer studio. Besides of these, they would like to take part in the centenary of Alfa.

Preliminary information were about an Alfa-based concept car by Italdesign Giugiaro but finally it turned out that there is not a model like that. Giorgetto Giugiaro did not give answers about the reasons.
